Statement

I am a painter and drawer living in New York City. My works are created with youthfulness in mind, and I aim to capture the whimsical and creative energy of childhood. Each one of my pieces is a way for me to pay respect to my two greatest treasures: creativity and the natural world. I see my art as a way to share the beauty of nature, while also adding a magical touch! In my free time, I love to travel, read, try new cuisines, and visit outdoor art and vintage markets.

Biography

I attended Kenyon College and studied abroad at The University of Oxford, where I majored in English Literature and Religious Studies. Reading such a wide array of literature is what originally gave me the creative inspiration to come up with characters, both in my art and writing. Today, my paintings and drawings are character-focused, and I give each of my subjects a distinct personality; they become friends to me, and I enjoy unveiling their eccentricities as I plan and paint. My dream is to illustrate for children's books and collaborate with publishers.

SIREN Baroque kicks off its third season with Fyer, Fyer!, the first of four concerts exploring the ancient elements, in a special collaboration with the innovative baroque dancers Laura Careless and Marisol Cabrera. The program features blazingly passionate works by Morley, Monteverdi, Rebel, Scarlatti, and Handel, all of which use fire as a metaphor for nature’s wrath, spiritual zeal, lustful ardor, or the terrors of hell. With SIREN Baroque’s “impassioned performances” (Early Music America) accompanied by strikingly seductive choreography, it promises to be an evening to ignite the senses.
