The beauty of life and diversity of the world we live in displays itself in so many colors, shapes and forms, in light and darkness; it's impossible for us to take it all in. I don’t paint what is around me, what I see or what I am told is there. I paint what I feel, what I see with my heart. I paint my secrets, my break-ups, my lovemaking. I paint my anger, frustrations. I paint my tears, my laughs, my satisfaction. I paint every breath I take and every emotion I feel. I don’t live days, hours or seconds. I live my life the way I know how to, in a world I am making for myself.

I am an abstract painter, but it's mainly abstract for you. For me, my paintings have an exact shape and form, displaying something I have experienced. When you come to my exhibition, its like you come to my life celebration. You may not see it at first, but what you are experiencing, is looking into a window of my life, myself, my most intimate moments, day by day as they keep passing. I lived every single thing on those paintings, I felt every single emotion captured in them. What my hope and goal is, is to provoke an imagination in every single one of you, for you to find pieces of your own story, your own private moments.

Sasha Kraal is a Czech-Dutch painter recently left Amsterdam to return to her birth town of Prague, where her atelier is currently based. Many of Kraal’s fans’ initial encounter with the self-taught painter was through her DIY online gallery, where she posted photographs of her artwork in combination with a text to accompany every piece. In this way, Kraal weaves her life experiences into lyrical compositions and varied painting technique. These abstract tales became an instant sensation almost overnight, going viral on Facebook and attracting thousands of views within the first month of publication.

SIREN Baroque kicks off its third season with Fyer, Fyer!, the first of four concerts exploring the ancient elements, in a special collaboration with the innovative baroque dancers Laura Careless and Marisol Cabrera. The program features blazingly passionate works by Morley, Monteverdi, Rebel, Scarlatti, and Handel, all of which use fire as a metaphor for nature’s wrath, spiritual zeal, lustful ardor, or the terrors of hell. With SIREN Baroque’s “impassioned performances” (Early Music America) accompanied by strikingly seductive choreography, it promises to be an evening to ignite the senses.
