I have been expressing my joy of art with paint, shapes and colors since I was very young. I began as a painter, evolved into a photographer, and eventually began painting on my photographic prints over thirty years ago. I hand painted vivid colors on my Cibachrome prints, creating a wonderful new reality. Now I scan my one-of-a-kind hand-painted prints, enhance them with Photoshop and produce limited edition archival prints.

I have been shown worldwide in many solo exhibitions including:
Butler Institute of American Art; Carnegie Art Museum in Oxnard, CA; Laguna Art Museum. CA; Petersen Automotive Museum, LA, CA;
LA County Museum of Natural History, CA; Monterey Museum of Art, CA; Louis Stern Gallery, West Hollywood, CA; Wall Space Gallery, Santa Barbara, CA; Nancy Hoffman Gallery, New York City; L’Image Gallery, Rome, Italy.

I have been in many group exhibits and collected by museums, foundations, corporations and individuals worldwide. I have 65 large art works in two important venues at UCLA, on exhibit for the next ten years.

J A N E G O T T L I E B Santa Barbara, California, USA http://www.janegottlieb.com “Jane Gottlieb is a colorist. The descriptive term is used sparingly since few artists have been blessed with the ability to utilize color as the principle component of a work. Gottlieb’s vibrant art challenges both the mind and the eye. Channeled through a remarkable imagination and disciplined eye, she delivers to us a visual universe of unparalleled wonders. These are classically beautiful works in theme and composition, but move well beyond tradition in interpretation and critical placement of exuberant color. These works are not about superficial razzle-dazzle. Instead, Jane Gottlieb’s works are about color’s understanding of natural form. If the role of art is to cause us to better understand ourselves and the environment in which we reside, then Jane Gottlieb’s artworks are a resounding success.” Dr. Louis Zona, Director, Butler Institute of American Art Biography: Born: Los Angeles, California 1946 Education: 1964 - 65 University of California at Berkeley 1966 University of Syracuse - Junior year, Florence, Italy 1967 - 68 UCLA - BA Degree - Painting & Art History 1969 School of Visual Arts, NYC - Graphic Design First Career: 1968 - 1982 Art Director, Designer, Photographer, Fine Art Photographer: Advertising, Movies, Magazines, Music, Fashion, Theater, Posters, in New York, Los Angeles & San Francisco 1983 - Present Full-Time Fine Art Photographer: Archival, hand-painted, brightly colored, one of a kind, Cibachrome photographic prints & Photoshop enhanced, Archival prints. SIREN Baroque kicks off its third season with Fyer, Fyer!, the first of four concerts exploring the ancient elements, in a special collaboration with the innovative baroque dancers Laura Careless and Marisol Cabrera. The program features blazingly passionate works by Morley, Monteverdi, Rebel, Scarlatti, and Handel, all of which use fire as a metaphor for nature’s wrath, spiritual zeal, lustful ardor, or the terrors of hell. With SIREN Baroque’s “impassioned performances” (Early Music America) accompanied by strikingly seductive choreography, it promises to be an evening to ignite the senses.
